Po.in.tex - Polo di Innovazione Tessile, è un’associazione di imprese, con sede a Biella, che promuove la competitività industriale e l’innovazione.

The Specializing Master in Fiber Design and Textile Processes was created because there is a need to explore new polymer fibers that now account for approximately 70% of the market.
Founded and launched by two centers of excellence: Città Studi Biella with its tradition of technical skills and POLI.design that, together with the School of Design and the Department of Design, forms the Politecnico di Milano Design System, which is a pool of resources, skills, facilities, and laboratories that is among the most important in the world.
The goal is to offer a unique educational program by providing quality knowledge and skills for designing innovative fibers and new materials including the Internet of Things (IoT) and environmental sustainability, thanks to the local companies involved throughout the academic program and their generous support.

The 1st edition of the 2nd level Specializing Master's Programme in “Sports Engineering” is offered for the academic year 2018/2019 by Politecnico di Torino in collaboration with “Scuola dello Sport – Coni Servizi S.p.A.” and “Città Studi S.p.A”. It is certified by “Johan Cruyff Institute” and endorsed by "Città di Torino".
Sports engineering is a multidisciplinary science which requires expertises in different fields: from materials science to meteorology, from ICT to biomechanics, from sensors development to statistics, from nutrition to sports medicine.
To achieve outstanding performance, an athlete needs the contributes of an entire team, which must successfully communicate by speaking a common language.
The purpose of the programme is to train experts that can successfully face the multidisciplinary science represented by sports engineering.

Città Studi, coordinator of Pointex, is partner of the European project  MIDWOR-LIFE
The main objective of the MIDWOR-LIFE is to mitigate the environmental, health and safety impacts of current Durable Water and Oil Repellents (DWOR) and their alternatives by analysing their environmental impact and technical performance in order to assess manufacturers on the best available technologies to provide liquid repellency on textiles.

The first workshop of MIDWOR-LIFE project was held on 29th November 2016 in Città Studi, Biella. Entitled “Environmental sustainability of the water-oil repellent treatments in the finishing processes: the possible alternatives,” he was attended by Jordi Mota (LEITAT, Terrassa), introduced by Paola Fontana (POINTEX / Città Studi), in the presence of a large group companies from the textile sector, regional and national.
