EU-TEXTILE2030

OBJECTIVES

The project  EU-TEXTILE2030 (World class Cluster on advanced textile materials) took place from 2018 to November 2019. 7 partners continue the actions carried out by the previous project TEXTILE2020 ended in 2014, with the development of a global cluster on advanced textile materials. The objectives of the EU-TEXTILE2030 project are:

  • Create a European Meta Cluster on advanced textile materials;
  • Improving the international competitiveness of European textile companies;
  • Develop technology partnerships through collective missions in 4 areas: Colombia, South Africa, Israel and Japan/Taiwan/South Korea.

The project is co-funded by the European Union (COSME program), and the 7 partners (all clusters) are:

INDUSTRIAL FOCUS

The 7 cluster partners of the EU-TEXTILE2030 project work on advanced textile materials, providing technical solutions with specific functions for diversified uses.

The final markets for advanced textile materials are: health, clothing, agriculture, geotextile, infrastructure, transport, protection, packaging, furniture and sports.

PLANNED ACTIVITIES

Delivery of market studies on advanced textile materials in the 4 selected target areas (available to Po.in.tex members). Plan of collective missions reserved for companies associated with the 7 cluster project partners (such as Pointex), in the 4 target areas. The missions were organized in co-occurrence with events such as fairs/conferences, relevant for companies working on advanced textile materials:

  • Colombia: 23-27 July, 2018 – Participation in Colombia Moda (fashion and innovation) fair in Medellin
  • South Africa: 19-23 November, 2018 – in correspondence with the fair ATF (Apparel, Textile and Footwear) in Cape Town, organized this year by Messe Frankfurt
  • Israel: from 25 to 29 March 2019
  • Japan: September 4-7, 2019
  • Taiwan: from 6 to 11 October 2019, in correspondence with TITAS

The EU-TEXTILE2030 as the European reference association for the advanced textile materials industry was formalized, and EU-TEXTILE 2030 is now a European Economic Interest Grouping with headquarters in Brussels. It represents the EU advanced textile materials’ sector and its main role is to support the European companies in internationalization.
