Process and product innovation for the production of textile components for the sanitary sector.

INTRODUCTION

The project concerns a semi-finished product for the production of absorbent products, for use in the sanitation sector. The product consists of a “top sheet” in contact with the skin, which must transfer fluids while remaining dry, and a part that acquires the fluid and distributes it over the entire absorbent surface of the diaper.

The project led to the creation of a laboratory line for carding and consolidating fibers into a web.

The innovative mechanical component lies in the two layers (ADL and Top Sheet) configuration group. The card will have a double output (existing technology), but will have to work fibers of different sizes and orient them differently.
