Textile Clusters for Industrial Modernisation

PROJECT MAIN OBJECTIVES

  • Launch a sustainable incubation and acceleration system to develop collaborative projects in Textiles and Clothing and other related or connectable sectors
  • Developing a common strategy for the modernisation of the Textiles and Clothing sector across Europe
  • Accelerate the use of innovation and productivity growth of textile/clothing SMEs by bringing businesses closer to the R&D world and better defining new business models and value chains.

The project, co-funded by the European Program COSME, lasted 24 months and ended in 2020.

PLANNED ACTIVITIES

  • A permanent system of incubation and acceleration for the design of collaborative projects in the textile and clothing sector. The project partnership will work on 3 investment projects per year, for a period of 5 years after the closure of the project
  • Portfolio of business opportunities: 24 investment project proposals (3 per region), development of 10 business plans and identification of funds for the 5 best projects
  • Business and growth support services, for the 5 eligible pilot projects
  • Intelligence actions with detailed map of opportunities for cluster’s enterprises of the 8 regions involved
  • 2 interregional matchmaking events, both with B2B and C2C sessions, taking place in Sweden and Portugal
  • Awareness and promotion campaign, coordinated with the learning and monitoring system of the project (2 peer review meetings)
  • Inclusion of the members of the TEX4IM consortium in the European ESCP-S3 (European Strategic Cluster Partnerships for Smart Specialisation Investments) platform.

3) Digital technologies, including digital platforms, e-marketing and thematic social communities;
4) Advanced Textile Materials (ATM);
5) Creativity as a new business model for TC value chains creation.

It is also expected the direct involvement of the main research and development hubs, commercial networks, science parks in the textile-clothing regions represented by the TEX4IM project.
